More than 70 of us leaders of Couples for Christ ANCOP attended the planning workshop held in Winnipeg on March 29, 2015. The venue was the Centennial Hall in downtown Winnipeg.
It was Palm Sunday, and most of us rushed to the venue after mass not wanting to miss this important planning session.
The workshop was conducted by ANCOP Canada President Ricky Cuenca and Rene Garrucho, EXECOM member in charge of Training and Development. The day before this, Ricky and Rene were in Regina and conducted the same workshop to CFC ANCOP leaders from Regina and the neighboring city Saskatoon.
As the day progressed, we got more and more convinced of the importance of our service to the poor. We felt grateful for this opportunity to help improve the lives of people suffering in poverty. We revisited ANCOP’s vision and mission and we had an in depth understanding of the key result areas that would help us succeed in our work. These include effective programs for the poor, enthusiastic participation of CFC community, responsive partnerships, successful marketing and communication and good governance. We embraced with enthusiasm ANCOP Canada’s new direction and thrust.
We all went home inspired by the activities which boosted our desire to help those in need. As immediate result, many of the participants volunteered to be fully involved in our ANCOP local work and fundraising activities, and expressed interest to do international missions.
Ricky is scheduled to visit other areas in Canada in the coming days to do the same and to ensure that we in ANCOP move in one direction to help the POOR.
