2021 Humanitarian Relief: Covid-19 Impact

Our Humanitarian Relief program had a successful campaign last year. Many families all over the world were greatly impacted by the relief funds that were received. Here are a few snippets of the significant impact that your generous contributions were able to achieve.

Ethiopia
A heartfelt thanks were shared from Abba Alemayehu Woldemichael a representative from Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. In collaboration with the St.Vincent Dawn of Hope Catholic School in Bahir Dar our financial support enabled them to receive food, sanitary products, face masks, and many other supplies needed to combat covid-19.

Kenya
Reverend Father Alexander Mutua sends his thanks on behalf of his parish. The funds were used to buy flour, cooking oil, and other supplies to help those struggling to get by due to COVID 19 in their area.

Phillipines

Fr. Genaro O. Diwa, Rector and Parish Priest of the National Shrine of St. Michael and the Archangels in the Philippines send his gratitudes to the COVID relief funds. The funds received were put into their Puso ni San Miguel program, which seeks to provide food to needy persons. 100 Cavans of rice were purchased and distributed in bags of 5 kilos to those they could assist. In spite of COVID restrictions, their parish has continued to provide assistance catering to around 1,000 regular participants. Father Genaro is grateful for the assistance that was given.

Tanzania

A letter of thanks for the funds was also sent from Tanzania. Fr. Wili Maningi of Korongoni Parish and the beneficiaries. ANCOP Scholar, Judith Watson Mkanguru (far left) received relief in food supplies and rental fees. She and her single mother are in a difficult situation where her mother lost work due to covid-19. Another ANCOP Scholar, Erick Emmanuel Kimario (third from the left) is also a beneficiary. He lives with his mother who is a home helper, but due to covid-19 has stopped work. Erick and his family received food supplies to help assist them in their decline in income. Many more children and their families were assisted in Tanzania with similar situations.

Once again we thank you for your generous contributions toward the humanitarian relief program in 2021. There were many more people not mentioned that truly are thankful for your donations. We hope that together we are able to continue to extend a helping hand to those in need.
