The 2025 CFC Calgary-ANCOP Basketball Tournament, held from February 23 to May 11, was a resounding success! Over the course of 10 Sunday mornings at YYC Active (Northeast Calgary), 12 teams battled it out on the court, bringing energy, camaraderie, and excitement to the tournament. In the end, Chapter South A3 emerged as the champion, with Family Ministry securing 2nd place and SFC finishing in 3rd.
As a CFC event at its core, each game began with a team prayer and concluded with a handshake between players as a sign of respect and sportsmanship.
The tournament featured teams from 4 clusters – North A (4 teams), North B (1 team), South A (2 teams), South B (2 teams), as well as YFC, Fam Min, and SFC, totaling an impressive 174 players. Notably, we also had players from the mission areas of Olds and Strathmore.
Thanks to the generous support of our community, the tournament raised $7,054.68 for ANCOP. Of this amount, $4,800 came from sponsorships and goods sales, while $2,254.68 was contributed through team registration fees after covering expenses.
