ANCOP CANADA bagged the Most Influential Community Organization award at the recently concluded 1st Golden Balangay Awards in Toronto, Canada.  This is the first-ever nationwide search for outstanding Filipino Canadians across Canada for individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the community.

This event also coincides with the celebration of 150 year anniversary of Canada. Vying for the prestigious award are seven equally deserving organizations.

Pilar Dimaculangan, ANCOP Program Head, together with Dan Gutierrez, ANCOP Finance Officer, received the award on behalf of Ricky Cuenca, ANCOP Canada President who was at that time in Manila.

Pilar in her acceptance speech,  thanked all the donors, partners and volunteers who are the “true heroes of this noble work”.  She also mentioned the vast work that Ancop is doing with more than 5,500 sponsored children from the Philippines, Africa and India as well as the shelter program being sponsored by ANCOP Canada.

She ended her speech saying that “ANCOP is a gift from God!”
