Partners, donors, sponsors, and volunteers of ANCOP were honored for their support during the Appreciation Night organized by CFC ANCOP Regina.

Regina Area Coordinators Gregg and Chelo Ravasco spearheaded the hosting of the event at the Holy Trinity Social Hall on October 23, 2015.  Over two hundred attended including representatives from the Archdiocese of Regina and various corporate sponsors.

Parish pastors who are strong supporters of ANCOP were present: Fr. Ron Andre of Holy Trinity, Fr. Peter Nguyen of Our Lady of Peace, Fr. Dan Rafael of Holy Child, Fr. Vitalis Azike of St. Mary’s, Fr Eusebio Tubale, Chaplain of Regina Hospital, and Fr. Edward Hengen of St. Joseph in Balgonie, Saskatchewan.

Mr. Paul Tourigny, Principal of St. Timothy School, also attended and he received the award for the school’s involvement in the ANCOP Child Sponsorship Program (CSP).

ANCOP Regina also gave recognition to the contribution of two highest solicitors during the Regina ANCOP Walk fundraising campaign on August 23, 2015: Edel Franco – highest individual solicitor, and the Lopez CFC household – highest group solicitor. Cited for their valuable support to ANCOP were 16 corporate donors, 4 parishes, and 21 individuals for child education sponsorship.

Ricky Cuenca, President of ANCOP Canada, was present and he provided updates on the developments in ANCOP.  He further encouraged everyone to continue supporting the work of ANCOP.  Ricky presented a video of two ANCOP scholars giving a testimony on how getting an education through ANCOP is making a difference in their lives. The scholars’ sharing moved many in the audience.

ANCOP CSP donors, Jerome/Michelle Marcelo and Joel/Jo Ong also gave a sharing on the blessings of being an ANCOP donor.

Although the evening was intended to appreciate ANCOP Partners, the organizers used it as an opportunity to introduce ANCOP’s Give Love on Christmas campaign. They were able to generate $1,414.00 from individual donations, silent auction, and a raffle draw.

It was a fun and lively evening, with lots of food and entertainment provided by local talents, Ryan Riopay, Olan Estrella and Sheryl Plazo. The emcees of the night were Jet and Randel Trapane. Members of Kids for Christ rendered a very touching rendition of “The Greatest Gifts of All”.

To spice up the evening, organizers entered all solicitors of $200 or more during the ANCOP Walk in a raffle draw. The Grand Prize winner took home a ticket for free accommodation to Orlando or Las Vegas.
