The Filipino McMaster Student Association, (FMSA) composed of students at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, were inspired to kick start their fund raising for ANCOP Canada, their charity of choice, with an initial fund of $ 750.00.
Cutout pictures of scavenging and homeless children greeted the participants in the ANCOP dinner Gala as they to enter the Rembrandt Hall in Scarborough. The Gala event last April 7, was to celebrate the 15th year anniversary of the annual ANCOP Walk which started in Vancouver and has now spread not only to 19 cities across Canada, but across many countries worldwide.
During the ANCOP Walk 2018 Launch Gala and appreciation night, the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) was one of the 15 honorees for their support and dedication in raising awareness to our youth and the academe of the plight of the poor and the poverty situation in third world countries like the Philippines.
GTA ANCOP Advocates, can you see yourself in the video? Close to 1,500 walkers filled the busy streets of Downtown Toronto to chant, dance, and let the city know that people care for their brothers and sisters.
