ANCOP Canada’s dedicated volunteers are among the first responders on the ground when natural disaster strikes. They quickly organize themselves to help bring people to safety, distribute relief goods, and extend immediate medical support. ANCOP Canada supports long-term rehabilitation effort to rebuild communities by building houses and organizing people for psychosocial and economic support.
Previous Projects:
1. One of ANCOP Canada’s major undertakings is in Central Philippines that was hit by super typhoon Haiyan leaving 4,500 dead and 1.9 million homeless. ANCOP Canada helped put up temporary shelter for typhoon Haiyan victims. In 2016, in partnership with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Palo and SM Cares Foundation, permanent homes were finally awarded to over 400 families.
2. In response to a raging wildfire that has evacuated 88,000 residents from Fort McMurray in May 2016, ANCOP Canada has raised funds of $7,500 in 1 week for humanitarian relief efforts. This wildfire has been described as the largest fire evacuation in Alberta’s history.
