ANCOP Paniqui Scholars Thank their Sponsors for their Support
Jerald Publiko, 16 years old, and Matthew Carl Corales, 12 years old are very thankful for the scholarship that an ANCOP Child Sponsorship Program (CSP) has provided to them. Their story is one of almost 3,700 stories of scholars all over the world from Asia, Middle East and Africa.
Every year, close to 500 new child scholars are given the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty in their family by going to school through ANCOP Canada. This year, aside from Jerald and Matthew, there are hundreds more who wish to go to school and make their dreams come true.
But their family can’t hardly make ends meet and oftentimes, education is almost an easy bet to be stricken out of the budget. Children as young as 6 years old start helping – by working in the streets. Oftentimes, due to poverty they will not be able to learn to read or write.
Thanks to an annual drive at the end of every year to generate more than usual number of scholars. From an average of 30-50 scholars signed up monthly for the first 9 months of the year, this campaign, Give Love on Christmas – targets 300 child scholarships in 3 months, or monthly, it aims for 100 deserving poor kids to go to school.
For a mere $ 1.25 or the price of a small coffee, one can make more Jeralds and more Matthews. Start this year. Visit ANCOP’s Give Love on Christmas Campaign Page and share the gift that keeps on giving – education.
