Bishop Alminaza & Fr Nolasco Visit ANCOP

Bishop1

The ANCOP Home office had two (2) distinguished guests at the end of the week prior to ANCOP Walk. We were honored to receive Most Rev Bishop Gerardo A. Alminaza and Fr Jublas Nolasco.

Bishop Alminaza, Bishop of San Carlos Diocese, was accompanied by Fr. Jublas Nolasco, chaplain at Toronto’s St. Joseph’s Health Centre. A few years ago, Fr Nolasco brought 300 packages as part of its parish projects to send relief support to San Carlos Diocese and other parts of Capiz at the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan.

Bishop 2Exactly last year, Bishop Alminaza personally visited the St. Joseph the Worker parish in Thornhill, to celebrate a thanksgiving Mass and to meet the community that sent 300 donation boxes to typhoon victims.

Fr Nolasco now spearheads the Pangandoy Sa Pag-Eskwela Foundation, INC.

ANCOP Canada just started to support 10 scholars through the ANCOP Child Scholarship Program through their foundation this school year. These 10 CSP Scholars joined the ANCOP Global Walk last week in the Philippines.

Bishop Alminaza was also invited to join Pangandoy sa Pag-Eskwela Foundation in this year’s ANCOP Walk in Taste of Manila in Bathurst and Wilson. He led the opening prayers and blessed all 1,200 walkers to always place their generous hearts in the right place, directed towards our God.

Here he is enjoying his walk with the good weather in Toronto last August 20, 2016.
